In his splendid isolation at Pointe-Denis in Gabon, the Commander of the Faithful, Mohammed VI must pray a lot for his rocking kingdom. Each passing day brings its noisy revelation, adding a layer of darkness to the picture of a kingdom already tainted by the “Marocogate”. A scandal that does not stop splashing the Royal Palace, weakening the Makhzen and carrying MEPs into an endless spiral. Senior Moroccan officials, including politicians, ministers and diplomats are the subject of an arrest warrant and risk, according to the French newspaper Le Figaro, being arrested when they get off the plane on French soil . The list of these personalities was sent the day before yesterday by the Belgian courts to the French authorities. I’ Morocco’s current ambassador to Poland, Abderrahim Atmoun, who was chairman of the Morocco-EU joint parliamentary committee between 2011 and 2019, is among those singled out by the investigation by the Belgian federal prosecutor’s office. Abderrahim Atmoun worked with former Italian MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri, who admitted his involvement in acts of corruption linked to Morocco. The head of the Dged, the Moroccan intelligence services, Yassine Mansouri, is also one, as is Mohamed Belahrach, head of the Dged branch in Rabat. In this great corruption scandal which continues to reveal all its secrets, the Belgian investigators got their hands on 1.5 million euros in cash, seized from the homes of the former MEP Pier Antonio Panzeri and the Socialist MEP Greek Eva Kaili. Like Panzeri, Ms. Kaili was imprisoned with her companion, the Italian Francesco Giorgi, parliamentary assistant, another Italian, Niccolo Figa-Talamanca, head of NGOs and the Belgian Marc Tarabella. The “Marocogate” is not a simple case of corruption of a few politicians. Corruption by Morocco is particular, because it involves a sprawling structure, many actors, colossal sums and over a long period. This is an immense network of corruption set up by the Makhzen to shower MEPs and NGOs with Zionist ties with millions of euros which could have been used to alleviate the suffering of a people crushed by misery and mal-life. At the bottom of the wave, the Makhzen tries to camouflage its sinking by lighting backfires. The latest prank, took place in Cairo when the Moroccan delegate made “inappropriate” remarks towards the General Secretariat of the Arab League. At the origin of this skid “the card of the Arab Nation” adopted by the League on February 9 in Cairo. The head of the Moroccan delegation accused the General Secretariat of the Arab League of “fraud and falsification of documents”, an attitude which was condemned by all the participating delegations.
The General Secretariat of the League published a press release in which it deplored such remarks, expressing “reservations” on the “inappropriate” observations of the representative of Morocco to the address of the General Secretariat and its employees.
In its press release, the General Secretariat of the Arab League affirmed its respect for “neutrality and professionalism”, stressing that it does not want “to have problems with any member country”, but wishes that everyone undertakes to “hold an acceptable discourse” within the League.
