US President Joe Biden toured Rolling Fork, Mississippi on Friday after multiple tornadoes hit the southern state and killed at least 26 people.
“The resilience of this community has been remarkable. And I just want you to know, as you fight through this, you’re not alone,” Biden told survivors.
“The American people will be with you. They’ll help you through it, and so will I,” he said.
Biden announced the opening of disaster recovery centers in four counties –Humphreys, Monroe, Sharkey and Carroll.
First lady Jill Biden joined the president as he toured the tornado-hit state.
Powerful storms and multiple tornadoes ripped through Mississippi on March 24, causing casualties and devastation across the state.
