Jackson Police are investigating a triple shooting that happened Thursday night. Officials say three men were shot around 10:45 p.m. at 200 Rebel Woods Drive, which is the Pine Ridge Gardens Apartments. When officers arrived, they found two of the men had been shot multiple times, and one man had been shot once. Police have not yet released details about the condition of the men. Instead of celebrating her 80th birthday, Annie Tucker from Moss Point spent her special day fundraising money to help rebuild her home. This comes after the June tornado destroyed the property. After all debris was cleared, only steps were left. Tucker’s son Melvin Dott said the family’s “Rebuilding in Love” fundraising campaign will help with expensive costs. “The house is completely gone — as you can see there’s nothing back there,” said Dott. “The entire house is gone. State Attorney Melissa Nelson held a very brief news conference Thursday announcing the final update to the high-profile case. She said prosecutors will seek the death penalty against her as well as having already advised they are doing with her co-defendant husband, Mario Fernandez Saldana. The Jackson City Council is considering potentially shuttering the Jackson Zoo. Discussion of the matter arose during budget hearings the council has been conducting in the past couple of weeks to set next year’s fiscal budget, and the zoo is just one area council members have been recently talking of cutting in order to find extra money.
