The Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary signed a joint declaration on strengthening and developing the strategic partnership on Monday.

The document, in particular, states that the parties noted with satisfaction the active interaction of the two countries in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian fields and reaffirmed their continued commitment to the principles and obligations laid down in the joint declaration on the principles and directions of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Hungary dated November 1, 1997, joint declaration between the Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary on strategic partnership of September 29, 2020.

The parties declare their intention to strengthen and expand the strategic partnership.

Emphasize the importance of further development of bilateral political dialogue and continuation of work within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Strategic Council.

Express their intention to further develop and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties.

Emphasize the priority importance of cooperation in the trade, economic and investment fields, express the desire to progressively increase it and intend to develop mutual cooperation in the fields of agriculture, industry, energy, green, creative economy, transport, digitalization, trade, mining and textile industries, including exchange experience in the activities of free economic zones.

They highly appreciate the activities of the Hungarian-Kyrgyz Development Fund as an actual mechanism for strengthening and expanding economic cooperation between the countries.

Kyrgyzstan and Hungary agreed to consider the possibility of discussing an increase in the authorized capital of the Fund in order to implement important investment projects in priority sectors of the economy of mutual interest.

The parties support the further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation in the fields of agriculture, energy, tourism within the framework of the fund.

They noted the importance of further building up cooperation between the ministries and departments of the two countries and supported the need to hold the next meeting of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian intergovernmental joint commission on economic cooperation, the dates of which will be agreed upon additionally, and also agreed to continue work within the framework of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian Business Council.

Work will continue on the opening of direct Budapest — Bishkek — Budapest flight. Opening of the direct flight between the capitals of the two countries will help attract investment and develop tourism.

The parties, welcoming the intensification of the Kyrgyz-Hungarian cultural and humanitarian cooperation, note the importance of continuing implementation of joint projects in the field of education.

They also positively assessed the facilitation of conditions for employment of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic in Hungary, noted the importance of creating favorable conditions for citizens to stay in the territories of the two countries, including those engaged in labor activities.

The parties confirm their readiness to deepen cooperation within the UN, the European Union, the Organization of Turkic States and other international organizations in order to maintain global security and peace, comprehensive sustainable development, conservation and protection of biodiversity, mountain ecosystems and climate.

The Heads of State noted the importance of mutual support for the candidacies of the two countries to the elected bodies of the UN and other international organizations.

The Kyrgyz Republic and Hungary will continue to consistently strengthen bilateral and multilateral cooperation in the fight against international terrorism, various forms of transnational organized crime and other security threats in the interests of ensuring the national security of the two states.
