A crocodile more than 4 meters long has been captured by a group of hunters in Mississippi , United States, at the start of the 2023 alligator hunting season. This giant reptile, which weighs up to 364 kilograms, was successfully caught in the Yazoo River after struggling for 7 hours, and almost all the equipment on their ship was damaged by the fierce resistance. The hunters also ended his life by gunshots after tying him up according to state regulations.
The incredibly large animal was then successfully lifted from the river to land using a forklift. “When you have an 800-pound animal on the end of a fishing line, and it suddenly appears on the surface like a giant creature, everything becomes very intense, and your adrenaline rushes,” said Thomas, a 43-year-old lawyer.
After being lifted ashore, it was discovered that the crocodile was about 14 feet 3 inches (4.3 meters) long. It is the longest alligator ever recorded in Mississippi , according to the state’s Department of Forests, Fisheries and Parks, surpassing the previous record by about 2 inches.
After successfully catching this creature, the hunters proudly pose with a smile, as a sign that they have successfully completed their mission, even breaking a record.
For your information, the crocodile hunting season in Mississippi usually opens on the last Friday in August each year. In 2023, this hunting season will end on September 4th.
